We all know about the toxic effects of Ozone, carbon monoxide, mercury, and a plethora of other chemicals, states Jay M. Marks, DMD. These chemicals are common on earth these days, and our exposure to them can be very detrimental. It is within our powers to either eliminate them or to avoid them in order to not be affected by their dangers. However there is one chemical that we CAN NOT avoid, and is with us and used by us every day! It invades our mouth and affects not only our bodies, but our teeth , and gums, and all our oral tissues. Dr. Marks says it can effect the progress of cavity formation, and gum disease, as well as oral cancer. What is it, and where is it found, and what actions does it cause? FINISH--->

It is di-hydrogen monoxide. Here are some of the consequences of this chemical:
- acid rain is mostly made up of this chemical
- it can kill you if by accident it is inhaled
- vomiting & excessive sweating contains this chemical
- when in a gaseous state, it can be explosive and cause severe burning
- can cause accidents by affecting car brakes
- causes erosion of many substances
- is found in many lesions and cancers of the mouth
Should we find a way to ban this substance, or just accept it for what it is? What is it? It is H20..... water.... the most common chemical on earth! So maybe we should be a little tolerant of this substance and enjoy all the great things it does give to us....plants, and birds, and waterfalls :-)
