This is a microscopic cross section of the brain's cerebellum. It is in the brain's base. It is comprised of 2 hemispheres and a grey matter mantle on the outside.
It is the center for locomotion, and coordination of the brain. Its needed for developing and recalling physical movement skills. In Mammals, the larger it is, the more complicated the skills can be. It makes up only 1/10th of the brain, but contains more than 50% of the brain's transmitting neurons. This is where motor coordination is conceived and carried out.
So.... when we decide to keep our teeth, and reach for our toothbrushes, and brush and floss to our hearts delight, our cerebellums are where our actions are carried out. Maybe this is why Fish, and Donkeys, and Dogs don't have their own toothbrushes. If you want to see if your cerebellum has been doing a good job for your teeth, please CONTACT US for an evaluation.
