A Cosmetic Dentistry Society in America carried out a survey to see if people would rather have a great smile, or a have a perfect body. The study had 1,018 people over the age of eighteen. Jay M. Marks DMD, Danbury CT dentist, reports that the study found that most people chose to have a beautiful smile.
Of those surveyed, reports Dr. Marks, 80% of adult Americans stated they preferred to spend money to correct a defect due to growing old. Of those, 62% said they would choose to improve their teeth or smile, vs. 48% who said they would spend their money on weight loss.
Dr. Marks points out that Cosmetic dentists have nothing to fear from gyms, or diet clubs, or electrolysis parlors, or hair salons. As long as people want to look young, there will always be dentists!
