In most teeth, the inside to outside (bucco lingual), and front to back (mesio distal) measurements distinguished sex. Of interest is the fact that transsexual people had tooth measurements that were in between those of males and females. Some believe that this finding may be due to a genetic basis, distinguishing between males, females, and transsexuals.
Getting back to the lateral (side) incisors, females tend to have more rounded edges, and are a little shorter then the central incisors. Males have longer lateral incisors, almost the same length as the central incisor, and have a more square shape.
